1. Children and Families

Child Benefit: A monthly payment to parents or guardians of children under 16 years, or under 18 if in full-time education.
Maternity Benefit: A payment to employed and self-employed women who are on maternity leave from work.
Paternity Benefit: A payment to employed and self-employed people who are on paternity leave from work.
Parent’s Benefit: A payment to parents who take parental leave from work to care for their child.
One-Parent Family Payment: A payment for men and women who are bringing children up without the support of a partner.
Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance: Helps meet the cost of uniforms and footwear for children going to school.
Working Family Payment: A weekly tax-free payment for employees with children.

2. Jobseekers

Jobseeker’s Allowance: A means-tested payment for people who are unemployed and looking for work.
Jobseeker’s Benefit: A payment for people who have lost work and have enough social insurance contributions.
Jobseeker’s Benefit for the Self-Employed: A payment for self-employed people who have lost their business.
Back to Work Enterprise Allowance: Encourages people getting certain social welfare payments to become self-employed.
Community Employment Programme: Provides long-term unemployed people with work experience and training

3. Health

Illness Benefit: A payment for people who cannot work due to illness.
Disability Allowance: A weekly allowance for people with a disability aged 16 to 66.
Carer’s Allowance: A payment for people who are looking after someone who needs support because of age, disability, or illness.
Carer’s Benefit: A payment for people who leave work to care for someone in need of full-time care.
Blind Pension: A means-tested payment for blind and visually impaired people.

Back to Education Allowance: Helps people on certain social welfare payments to attend approved second or third-level education courses.
Student Grant Scheme: Financial support for students in full-time education.

5. Pensions

State Pension (Contributory): A payment for people aged 66 and over who have enough social insurance contributions.
State Pension (Non-Contributory): A means-tested payment for people aged 66 and over who do not qualify for the contributory pension.
Widow’s, Widower’s or Surviving Civil Partner’s Pension: A payment for widows, widowers, or surviving civil partners.

Mortgage Interest Supplement: Helps with the interest portion of a mortgage repayment.
Housing Assistance Payment (HAP): A form of social housing support for people who have a long-term housing need.

Personal Public Service Number (PPSN): A unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits and public services.
Public Services Card (PSC): A card that helps you access a range of public services in Ireland.

MyWelfare.ie: An online portal for accessing social welfare services.

9. Other Services

Supplementary Welfare Allowance: Provides a basic weekly allowance to eligible people who have little or no income.
Fuel Allowance: A payment to help with the cost of heating your home during the winter months.
Household Benefits Package: Helps with the costs of running your household.
